Architect-Designed Off-Grid Cabins on the Water’s Edge

Each 27 sqm one-bedroom suite is designed as a quiet sanctuary, with tall ceilings and full-height glazing that immerses you in uninterrupted views of Loch Fyne. Inside, the king-sized bedroom and its ensuite bathroom sit gently apart from the living space, creating a soft sense of retreat and privacy. Step outside and you’re only moments from the water, with direct access to your own secluded stretch of shoreline. Though identical in comfort, each cabin is shaped uniquely by its setting, offering two beautifully different ways to experience the stillness of Loch Fyne.

With just two cabins on, positioned over 100 metres apart, every stay feels intimate and deeply private. The two suites offer distinct expressions of the Kabn aesthetic.

Kabn 1, in a portrait orientation, features a Japanese-inspired slatted glass gable that captures the changing light.

Kabn 2, in a landscape orientation, opens to the loch through a sweeping panoramic glass corner. Both share the same considered layout, refined amenities, handcrafted kitchens, and serene bedroom and bathroom spaces.

Kabn Location Loch Fyne

Despite its remote feel, the location is easily reached in around one hour from Glasgow Airport and two hours from Edinburgh Airport, making Loch Fyne an ideal destination for a peaceful luxury escape in the Scottish Highlands.

Taking the time to meditate in your Kabn offers a multitude of benefits for your overall well-being. First and foremost, your Kabn provides a serene and secluded environment, away from the distractions and noise of daily life. This peaceful setting allows you to disconnect from external stimuli and immerse yourself in a state of deep relaxation. "Built by brothers Hugh and John Stevenson, Oban whisky is inextricably bound to its environment. Our water flows in from a loch three miles away. Our barley travels from Speyside. The distillery came first and a town rose up around it. We sit at the portal between the West Highlands and the Hebrides Islands, a location renowned for its temperate climate and rugged beauty."

    • Inverawe Smokehouse

About an hour's drive from the Kabns and close to the famous town of Oban, this traditional smokehouse with a Royal Warrant offers a wide selection of local produce as well as an exhibition into how the salmon is smoked. If you fancy a day trip to Oban, this is a nice stop on the way.

"Our traditional way of wood smoking flies in the face of modern production because we rely on real people taking their time and using age-old skills rather than cutting corners with rows of machines. But we think you'll agree when you taste our hot smoked salmon, or any of our many other smoked foods, that the end result is worth the wait."
